Juiced TV is made by kids for kids stuck in the hospital, and they do amazing work! I have been privileged enough to film a few episodes with them and Its always a hoot!
For our latest Zebralution shoot, we had the pleasure of trying out some of the gorgeous products from LUSH! https://www.lush.com.au/
We were super excited to try out some of their cosmetics products, as we are all huge fans of all the LUSH beauty products, and we couldn't wait to get our hot little hands on some of their makeup line!
There's so much to love about LUSH, from their strong values with keeping fresh beautiful natural ingredients, to recycling and trying to make an impact on unnecessary landfill, and of course - Fighting against animal cruelty by making a HUGE effort to avoid any involvement with animal testing. They do this by ensuring that every single product that goes into their products is ethically accounted for, and never EVER tested on animals! They have such a great range of vegetarian and vegan products - and Zebralution just loves them!!
Of course it also helps that when ever we go into our local LUSH store - Brisbane, Queen St Mall https://www.lush.com.au/index.php?route=common%2Flocation_details&location_id=8
We're always greeted by the loveliest, most helpful staff including the adorable Annalise, the store manager. She always makes time to chat to us about Zebralution, any new makeup products and anything else makeup/fashion/cruelty free that we can fit in before we buy the whole store out!!
Back to the shoot! LUSH generously gave us these products to try out!

First up, Eyes Bright Mascara - So perfect for Makeup artists! Super easy to use with a disposable mascara wand with a smaller shaped bottle (rather than a tube) means it wont dry out as fast! I got a great solid black colour from it, with out clumping. Great for an everyday wear mascara.
Focus Creme Pigment - Such a dreamy, creamy beautiful colour. Perfect for giving me that really striking highlight on the cheekbones, that I wanted to achieve on Jacqueline. Its usual purpose is as an Eye Shadow, to be place on the center of the eye lid and brow bone and blended in - Perfection! I'd love to use this in a themed shoot for something like a mermaid or pretty little alien girl! I may need to get creating - Watch this space!
Colour Supplement (Light Yellow) - To be used as a foundation, or tinted moisturizer for a light a light to medium coverage. Great for sensitive skin! This particular shade was so lovely and creamy. We decided to mix it in with a little of our other cruelty free foundation to get a really flawless look, but this is great as a everyday makeup that you can dress up or play down. Would look gorgeous with a nice subtle bronzer on the cheek and maybe a pretty colour like 'Perspective' lip gloss for an "effortlessly natural" look.
Thank you LUSH! Zebralution loves you!! xxx
So cool to see a concept come to life! This was just a little idea I had a while back, to do a cool comic themed photo shoot with a bad-ass batman and some smoking hot babes. Some of you might know that my day job is working at Comics Etc in Brisbane, and this is where I met Batman. How many people can say that really? One of our lovely customers Taloi just happened to own his very own bat suit, and with the permission of my lovely boss James we decided to do a photo shoot on the rooftop of our building, and an alley way beside the shop that just happens to look a lot like New York circa 1988/Gotham City depending on how you light it!! With Batman and Comics Etc already on board I contacted the awesome people at Black Milk Clothing to see if they might want to let me borrow some outfits from their recent Batman collection. Unfortunately I was a little late to the party, and missed out on this collection, but I couldn't believe how lucky I was when I found out that they were releasing a new collection of 'Heroes' apparel. I hounded them again and was so generously given one of the 'Bat Kitty Catsuit'http://blackmilkclothing.com/collections/heroes/products/bad-kitty-catsuit and the 'Stars 2.0 Leggings'http://blackmilkclothing.com/products/stars-2-leggings which fit PERFECTLY with my theme.
Next on the agenda was securing 2 models who would be just as excited about this project, as photographer KTB and I were.
Dominiqué Maber http://www.modeldominiquemaber.com/ is a fantastic Model and Actress and we'd worked together on another shoot for Zebralution (but that's another story) I knew Dom would bring her A-Game to this, and would suit the look perfectly. She's so professional, courteous, super reliable and looks smoking hot in front of a camera! I couldn't have asked for more from her on the day! Next on my list was a blonde... The first person who came to mind was Emily Charlotte Tam http://www.beautiesofthebeat.com/ she had exactly the look I wanted for our blondey.. She's beautiful, and could carry off perfectly the look of 'old Hollywood glam yet, bad-ass-don't-mess-with-me-chick' and she just has this amazing positive energy she brings!
The day ran smoothly (other than someone almost getting arrested and me threatening to 'go get batman' to sort it out) and I couldn't have been happier with the shots we got on the day. Batman was amazing and did such an great job especially as this was his first photo-shoot, the girls brought it so much life and we even had an audience with the office building next door huddled against windows taking photos and waving to Batman.
Once KTB got the shots in her hot little hands she managed to turn them into exactly what I'd seen in my head all those weeks ago when we started planning this. I wanted a dark, edgy look to the photos, similar in style to the Sin City movie. Dark and Glamorous, with kick-ass babes and Batman for good measure!
I couldn't be happier with this shoot, it definitely goes to the top of my favorite shoots!
I hope you like it!
Megs xx
